Which paired games were the first entries in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series?
Answer
Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team
Answer
Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team were the first entries in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.
The matched pair was released in Japan on November 17, 2005. Blue Rescue Team was made for Nintendo DS, while Red Rescue Team was made for Game Boy Advance. Chunsoft developed both games, and Nintendo and The Pokémon Company published them.
Unlike the main Pokémon role-playing games, these titles make the player character a Pokémon rather than a human Trainer. A personality quiz determines the player’s Pokémon, and the story follows a rescue team exploring randomly generated dungeons.
The two versions are mostly similar, but each has six Pokémon exclusive to that version. Red Rescue Team was also the last Pokémon game released for the Game Boy Advance. The pair later received a combined remake, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, in 2020.
