Leeds United were the only newly promoted 2026–27 Premier League club to win away from home without conceding in the opening round.
Leeds beat Nottingham Forest 1–0 at the City Ground on Saturday 22 August 2026. The result gave Leeds three points and a clean sheet in their first match of the campaign.
The other promoted clubs had different opening results. Hull City beat Manchester United 2–0 at home, while Ipswich Town beat Sunderland 2–1 at home. Coventry City lost 3–0 away to defending champions Arsenal.
The distinction combines three facts: Leeds were promoted, their opener was away, and the match ended in a shutout victory. Hull also kept a clean sheet, but Hull’s match was at home. Coventry had an away fixture, but they did not win.
