Which model married actor Richard Gere in 1991?
Answer
Cindy Crawford
Cindy Crawford married actor Richard Gere in 1991.
Crawford and Gere married in December 1991 after dating for several years. Their relationship attracted substantial media attention because both were internationally famous: Gere was a leading film actor, while Crawford was one of the most recognizable models of the decade.
The marriage ended in divorce in 1995. Crawford later married businessman and former model Rande Gerber in 1998, and they have two children, Presley and Kaia.
The Gere marriage is one of several widely remembered celebrity relationships involving supermodels of the period. It is distinct from Claudia Schiffer’s marriage to film director Matthew Vaughn and Christy Turlington’s marriage to actor and writer Edward Burns.
