Which Melbourne skyscraper has an observation deck called the Eureka Skydeck?
Answer
Eureka Tower
Answer
Eureka Tower
Eureka Tower in Melbourne has an observation deck called the Eureka Skydeck.
The residential skyscraper stands in the Southbank precinct near the Yarra River. It was designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects and completed in 2006. The tower rises 297 metres, including its spire, and contains 91 floors above ground.
The Eureka Skydeck occupies level 88 and opened to visitors as one of Melbourne’s principal skyline attractions. It offers broad views across the central business district, the river and surrounding suburbs. The building’s golden glass and red horizontal bands refer to the Victorian gold rush and the bloodshed associated with the Eureka Rebellion.
Eureka Tower is often confused with the Rialto Towers, another major Melbourne landmark with a public observation facility. Eureka Tower was the tallest residential building in the world when completed, although later projects surpassed it. Australia 108, also in Melbourne, is a separate and taller residential skyscraper.
