Which McDonaldland character was presented as the town's mayor?

Mayor McCheese was the McDonaldland character presented as the town's mayor.

The character was a human-like mayor with a large cheeseburger for a head, complete with eyes, a nose, and a mouth. He wore formal clothing and appeared in McDonald's television commercials and other promotional material during the classic McDonaldland era.

Mayor McCheese represented a deliberately exaggerated version of civic authority in the fictional setting. His design linked the restaurant's signature food directly to the imaginary community surrounding its characters.

He is sometimes mixed up with Officer Big Mac, another McDonaldland figure whose design was based on the Big Mac. Mayor McCheese's distinctive role was political rather than law-enforcement-related, and his title is the key identifying detail.
