Which match concluded the 2026–27 Premier League opening round on Monday 24 August?

Fulham vs Chelsea concluded the 2026–27 Premier League opening round on Monday 24 August.

The London fixture was scheduled for 20:00 BST at Craven Cottage. It was the tenth and final match of the opening Match Round, following the Friday, Saturday and Sunday fixtures.

Fulham began the season under new head coach Álvaro Arbeloa, who was appointed after Marco Silva’s departure. Chelsea also had a new manager: former Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso took charge before the campaign.

The match was a west London meeting between neighbouring clubs. Fulham’s Craven Cottage lies beside the River Thames, while Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge is located in nearby Fulham, making this one of the opening round’s local derbies.
