Which match completed the 2026–27 Premier League opening round on Monday?
Answer
Fulham vs Chelsea
Fulham versus Chelsea completed the 2026–27 Premier League opening round on Monday.
The match was played at Craven Cottage on Monday 24 August 2026. Chelsea won 3–2 away from home, making the west London fixture the final game of the opening round rather than a Saturday or Sunday match.
Fulham were the home side and Chelsea were the visitors. The two clubs are both based in west London, so the match also had the character of a local rivalry even though it was part of the regular league schedule.
The Monday conclusion illustrates how Premier League opening rounds are distributed across broadcast windows. Arsenal and Coventry began the season on Friday, while the remaining fixtures were staged over Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
