Rayan Cherki supplied two assists as Manchester City came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2–1 in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.
Cherki came off the bench shortly after the hour mark and created both of Manchester City’s goals. His first assist came from a corner, while his second involved an intricate pass in open play.
Bournemouth led through Marcus Tavernier’s 26th-minute goal and were six minutes away from a famous victory at the Etihad Stadium. Marc Guéhi equalised with a header before Joško Gvardiol scored the winner in stoppage time.
The match marked Enzo Maresca’s first Premier League game as Manchester City manager after replacing Pep Guardiola. It also ended Bournemouth’s run of 18 Premier League matches without defeat.
