Which manager led Hull City in its 2–0 opening-weekend win over Manchester United in 2026–27?

Sergej Jakirović led Hull City in its 2–0 opening-weekend win over Manchester United in 2026–27.

Jakirović was listed as Hull City’s manager for the 2026–27 Premier League season. His team began the campaign at home against Manchester United on 22 August 2026 and won by two goals without conceding.

The result made Hull one of two promoted clubs to win in the opening round. Ipswich Town also collected three points, while Coventry City lost to Arsenal. Hull’s victory was especially notable because it came against Manchester United.

The managers of the other clubs can cause confusion in this question. Michael Carrick was Manchester United’s manager, Gary O’Neil managed Ipswich Town, and Frank Lampard managed Coventry City.
