Hidden Side is the LEGO theme featuring the fictional city of Newbury and its ghost-hunting team.
LEGO Hidden Side launched in 2019 as a theme combining physical building sets with an augmented-reality mobile game. The story is set in Newbury, where characters such as Jack Davids and Parker L. Jackson investigate supernatural activity and fight ghosts.
The sets were designed to change appearance through mechanisms such as rotating elements, revealing hidden faces or switching colours. The companion app used a device camera to add interactive digital effects to the completed models. This physical-digital combination was the defining feature of Hidden Side.
The theme is easy to confuse with LEGO Monster Fighters, an earlier monster-focused line, or LEGO sets based on the Ghostbusters franchise. Hidden Side was an original LEGO story world rather than a direct adaptation of an existing film or television property.
