Kenner’s famous blue variant was the Snaggletooth action figure.
The figure was included in an early Sears-exclusive Star Wars cantina playset, based on the alien character later identified as Takeel. Kenner produced it in a tall blue version, even though the film character appeared shorter and wore red clothing.
After the character’s appearance was corrected, Kenner released a shorter red version on a standard card. Collectors therefore distinguish the original tall blue figure from the later red figure. The blue version is especially desirable because it was available only in limited early merchandise.
A common mix-up is calling the figure “Blue Snaggletooth” as though that were the character’s full name. “Snaggletooth” is the collectible character name, while “Blue Snaggletooth” describes the rare toy variant.
