Seventeen became the first K-pop act to perform on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in 2024.
The South Korean boy band appeared on the Pyramid Stage on Friday, 28 June 2024, during the afternoon, before Paul Heaton and PJ Harvey. Their appearance was a landmark for both the group and the festival: Glastonbury had hosted major international pop acts for decades, but Seventeen were the first K-pop act to take that stage.
The distinction is specifically about performing on the Pyramid Stage, not simply appearing anywhere at Glastonbury. Acts such as BTS, Blackpink and Stray Kids are plausible distractors because they are globally prominent K-pop names, but the 2024 milestone belongs to Seventeen. The festival’s headline acts that year were Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, while Seventeen’s booking broadened the Pyramid Stage’s representation of contemporary global pop.
