Which James Bond villain is played by Christopher Lee in The Man with the Golden Gun?

The story behind the answer

Christopher Lee plays Francisco Scaramanga, the villain of The Man with the Golden Gun.

Scaramanga is a professional assassin known for using a distinctive golden firearm. The plot centres on Bond’s attempt to find him after a golden bullet bearing Bond’s code number is sent to London. Their pursuit leads through Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand before the two men face each other.

Christopher Lee brought considerable screen presence to the role. He was also connected to Ian Fleming: Lee was Fleming’s step-cousin and had worked in intelligence during the Second World War. Although the film was Lee’s only appearance as a Bond villain, he later played Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequel films.

Roger Moore played Bond in this 1974 film. The title was adapted from Fleming’s 1965 novel, though the movie changes many elements of the book’s story and characters.
