Which James Bond film introduced Timothy Dalton as 007?
Answer
The Living Daylights
Answer
The Living Daylights
The Living Daylights introduced Timothy Dalton as 007.
Dalton took over the role after Roger Moore’s seven-film tenure. His first Bond film, released in 1987, presents a more serious and emotionally restrained version of the character. The story begins with Bond protecting a defecting Soviet general and investigating whether the defection is genuine.
The film takes its title from Ian Fleming’s short story “The Living Daylights.” Its cast includes Maryam d’Abo as Kara Milovy, Jeroen Krabbé as General Georgi Koskov and Joe Don Baker as arms dealer Brad Whitaker. The action moves through locations including Gibraltar, Vienna, Bratislava and Afghanistan.
Dalton made only two official Bond films. He returned in Licence to Kill in 1989, which gave the character an especially personal revenge-driven mission. Legal and production changes then delayed the series, and Pierce Brosnan became Bond in GoldenEye in 1995.
