Which James Bond film first featured 007's Aston Martin DB5?

The story behind the answer

Goldfinger was the first James Bond film to feature 007’s Aston Martin DB5.

The silver DB5 became one of the most recognisable vehicles in cinema after appearing in the 1964 film. Q equips it with fictional spy gadgets, including machine guns, an ejector seat, a bulletproof shield and revolving licence plates. The car’s presence helped establish the Bond series’ tradition of combining luxury motoring with imaginative technology.

The DB5 was not created specifically for the film. It was based on the production Aston Martin DB5 grand tourer, designed by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and introduced in 1963. Goldfinger helped turn the model into a lasting pop-culture icon, and later Bond films brought it back repeatedly.

A common mix-up is assuming the DB5 appeared in Dr. No because it is so closely associated with Bond. In fact, Bond drives a Sunbeam Alpine in that first film. Goldfinger also introduced the DB5’s memorable gadget-filled identity.
