Destiny’s Child released the 1998 album Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé’s first studio album with the group.
The self-titled album was released on February 17, 1998, by Columbia Records. At that point, Destiny’s Child consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett.
The album included the group’s debut single, “No, No, No,” whose remix featured Wyclef Jean. That song helped establish Destiny’s Child commercially before the group’s later worldwide breakthrough with The Writing’s on the Wall.
The group’s lineup changed over time, which can cause confusion when identifying the members on the debut album. Michelle Williams joined after the original quartet’s lineup changed, so she was not part of the recording lineup for this self-titled debut.
