Which Grammy category did Beyoncé become the first Black woman to win in 2025?

Beyoncé became the first Black woman to win Best Country Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

She won the category for Cowboy Carter, her eighth studio album, at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025. The album explores country, Americana, rock, and roots traditions while highlighting the historical contributions of Black musicians to country music.

Cowboy Carter also won Album of the Year, giving Beyoncé her first victory in that category. She additionally received awards for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted,” featuring Miley Cyrus, and Best Country Solo Performance for “16 Carriages.”

Beyoncé’s country recognition followed the release of “Texas Hold ’Em,” which became her first number-one song on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The Best Country Album achievement is distinct from her Album of the Year win.
