The Glastonbury area that includes Green Futures, the Stone Circle and the Healing Field is the Green Fields.
The Green Fields occupy the festival’s southern side and preserve much of Glastonbury’s environmental, spiritual and countercultural character. Green Futures focuses on sustainable living, ecological ideas and practical demonstrations, while the Healing Field offers complementary therapies, wellbeing activities and spaces for reflection. The Stone Circle is a gathering place inspired by ancient megalithic monuments, although the festival’s circle itself is modern.
A common mix-up is to treat these names as separate festival regions. They are distinctive sections within the broader Green Fields area, rather than alternatives such as West Holts, The Common or Silver Hayes. The area also connects Glastonbury’s modern festival culture with the event’s roots in the hippie, free-festival and environmental movements of the late 20th century.
