Which genre does Wikipedia list for Crash Bash?
Answer
Party
Answer
Party
Wikipedia lists Crash Bash as a party game. Released for the original PlayStation in 2000, it shifted the series away from traditional platforming into a collection of competitive multiplayer mini-games.
Crash Bash was developed by Eurocom Entertainment Software in association with Cerny Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was the fifth Crash Bandicoot title and the first in the series made without Naughty Dog's direct development involvement.
The party label fits its structure: the game contains 28 mini-games divided among categories such as Ballistix, Polar Push, Tank Wars and Crate Crush. Players can compete in single-player and multiplayer modes, with the Adventure campaign organizing the challenges into a progression system.
It is sometimes mistaken for a fighting game because many events involve attacking or knocking out opponents, and its Crash Dash events resemble racing. Those are individual mini-game formats, however; the game's overall genre classification is party. Critics also frequently compared its multiplayer design with Nintendo's Mario Party series.
