Which Fleetwood Mac album was the first to feature Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham?

The story behind the answer

The first Fleetwood Mac album to feature Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham is Fleetwood Mac (1975). It introduced the duo to the band and began the lineup’s most commercially successful era.

Buckingham and Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac at the end of 1974 after guitarist Bob Welch departed. Producer Keith Olsen had played Mick Fleetwood recordings from the duo’s album Buckingham Nicks, and Fleetwood became interested in Buckingham’s guitar playing. Buckingham agreed to join only if Nicks came with him.

The new lineup recorded the self-titled album at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles in early 1975. It was made quickly, even though the musicians were still learning how to work together. The album included major songs such as Nicks’s “Rhiannon,” Buckingham’s “Monday Morning,” and Christine McVie’s “Over My Head” and “Say You Love Me.”

The title can cause confusion because Fleetwood Mac had already released a 1968 album also called Fleetwood Mac. The 1975 record is the band’s second self-titled album, often nicknamed the “White Album,” and is the one that first includes both Nicks and Buckingham.
