Jacob Elordi won Best Supporting Actor for Frankenstein at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.
Directed by Guillermo del Toro, Frankenstein is a science-fiction horror film adapted from Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel. Elordi plays the Creature, the artificial being brought to life by Victor Frankenstein. His performance earned the film one of its four Critics Choice wins.
The award was for supporting acting, not Best Actor. Timothée Chalamet won the lead-acting prize for Marty Supreme, while Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for Hamnet. Frankenstein also received recognition for costume design, production design, and hair and makeup.
Del Toro’s version emphasizes both the Gothic horror of Shelley’s story and the emotional relationship between creator and creation. The Creature is often casually called “Frankenstein,” but Frankenstein is the scientist’s surname; the created being is generally known as the Creature or Frankenstein’s monster.
