Frankenstein won Best Production Design at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards through Tamara Deverell and Shane Vieau.
Deverell and Vieau won Best Production Design for Frankenstein, Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel. Their work created the laboratories, residences, streets, and other environments that establish the film’s nineteenth-century Gothic world.
Production design is concerned with the overall physical environment of a movie. It works closely with set decoration, costume design, cinematography, and visual effects, but it is not the same as costume design. Kate Hawley won the costume-design award for Frankenstein, while Deverell and Vieau were recognized for the film’s environments.
Frankenstein was one of the ceremony’s two joint film leaders, earning four wins. Its other victories included supporting actor for Jacob Elordi, costume design, and hair and makeup.
