Which film introduced Apollo Creed's son Adonis?

The story behind the answer

Which film introduced Apollo Creed’s son Adonis? Creed introduced Adonis Creed.

Released in 2015, Creed follows Adonis “Donnie” Johnson, the previously unknown son of former heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. Apollo, played by Carl Weathers in the Rocky films, died before Adonis was born, so Adonis grows up separated from his father’s public legacy before choosing boxing for himself.

Michael B. Jordan plays Adonis, while Sylvester Stallone returns as Rocky Balboa. Rocky becomes Adonis’s trainer and mentor, creating a direct bridge between the original Rocky films and the new series. Ryan Coogler directed and co-wrote the film with Aaron Covington.

The title can cause confusion because Creed II also focuses on Adonis, particularly his connection to Apollo’s past and the Drago family. However, Creed II is the 2018 sequel, while Creed is the film that first introduces Adonis and establishes his relationship with Rocky, his mother Mary Anne, and Bianca Taylor.
