Which film in The Lord of the Rings trilogy features the battle of Helm’s Deep?

The story behind the answer

The Two Towers features the battle of Helm’s Deep.

The battle is a central sequence in Peter Jackson’s second Lord of the Rings film. Human defenders from Rohan, led by King Théoden and supported by Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and others, shelter inside the fortress while Saruman’s army attacks.

Helm’s Deep is located in a stronghold called the Hornburg, within the wider valley. The film presents the battle as a desperate defense against overwhelming numbers and uses it to show Théoden moving from fear and political weakness toward active leadership.

The battle is sometimes confused with the siege of Minas Tirith, which occurs in The Return of the King. Helm’s Deep belongs to Rohan and appears in the second film; Minas Tirith belongs to Gondor and is attacked in the third.
