Which fictional lion did Beyoncé voice in The Lion King (2019)?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé voiced Nala in Disney’s 2019 photorealistic computer-animated remake of The Lion King.

Nala is a lioness who grows up alongside Simba and later helps encourage him to return to the Pride Lands. In the remake, Beyoncé also contributed the original song “Spirit,” which appears in the film and its accompanying soundtrack.

The 2019 movie was directed by Jon Favreau and used computer-generated imagery to recreate the visual style of a live-action wildlife film. Donald Glover voiced Simba, while James Earl Jones reprised his role as Mufasa from the 1994 animated film.

Nala is sometimes confused with Sarabi, Simba’s mother, or Kiara, Simba and Nala’s daughter in the later sequel The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride.
