Which festival did Beyoncé headline in 2018?

The story behind the answer

Beyoncé headlined the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2018.

Her April 2018 performance became widely known as “Beychella.” It was her first major public performance after giving birth to twins, and it featured an expansive production with marching bands, dancers, guest appearances, and references to historically Black college and university culture.

Beyoncé had originally been scheduled to headline the 2017 festival but postponed after becoming pregnant. Her 2018 appearance made her the first Black woman to headline Coachella, according to widely cited accounts of the festival’s history.

The performance was later released as the concert film and live album Homecoming in 2019. Coachella takes place annually at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley.
