Adele headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 2016.
She performed as the Saturday-night headliner on 25 June 2016, during the festival held from 22 to 26 June. Her set followed performances by acts including Tame Impala, The Last Shadow Puppets and Madness, while Muse and Coldplay headlined the Pyramid Stage on the other two main nights.
Adele’s appearance was notable because it was her first Glastonbury headline performance. She had already become one of Britain’s biggest recording artists through albums such as 19, 21 and 25, and the festival set came during the hugely successful 25 era.
The question can cause confusion because Glastonbury has several major stages and multiple headliners each year. In 2016, Muse and Coldplay were also Pyramid Stage headliners, but Adele was the female singer who occupied the Saturday headline slot. She became known for combining powerful songs such as “Someone Like You” with candid, humorous interaction with the crowd.
