Which Fast & Furious film was the first in the series to feature Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs?

The story behind the answer

Fast Five was the first Fast & Furious film to feature Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs.

Released in 2011, Fast Five introduces Hobbs as a Diplomatic Security Service agent pursuing Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner. His mission changes when he recognizes that the criminal mastermind they face is a larger threat, leading him to cooperate with the crew.

The casting of Dwayne Johnson significantly broadened the film's ensemble. Fast Five combines the franchise's established street-racing identity with a Brazil-set heist story, and Hobbs becomes one of the series' most important recurring characters afterward.

Johnson returned as Hobbs in Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, and later the Hobbs & Shaw spin-off. His first appearance is therefore Fast Five, not the sixth film, even though the character becomes more prominent in subsequent installments.
