Sara Davies founded Crafter's Companion before appearing as a Dragon on the British television programme Dragon's Den.
Davies established Crafter's Companion in 2005 while she was a student at the University of York. The company began with a product designed to help crafters make envelopes, then expanded into tools, materials and other supplies for paper crafting and related hobbies.
Her business experience led to her joining the Dragon's Den investor panel in 2019. She became known for combining investment decisions with a practical understanding of product development, retail and direct-to-consumer sales.
Crafter's Companion is sometimes confused with a single craft product, but it is the name of the broader company Davies founded. Davies is also distinct from other female Dragons, including Deborah Meaden and Kelly Hoppen, who joined the programme in different periods.
