Shark Tank is the American adaptation of the investor-pitch format used by Britain's Dragon's Den.
The American programme premiered on ABC in 2009 and features entrepreneurs presenting businesses to a panel of investors. Like Dragon's Den, it centres on requests for money in exchange for an ownership stake, followed by questioning and negotiation.
The two programmes use different animal imagery and have different panel members, presenters and production histories. The British title uses dragons, while the US title uses sharks, but the underlying format derives from the Japanese programme Money Tigers.
Beyond the Tank is not the main American adaptation. It is a related spin-off that follows businesses after their appearances, so it is a plausible but incorrect answer when identifying the principal US series.
