Rob Law is the creator of the Trunki children's ride-on suitcase.
Law developed Trunki as a child-friendly piece of luggage that children could sit on and ride while travelling. The product was designed to make airport and travel journeys more manageable for families while giving children a distinctive suitcase of their own.
He presented the product on Dragon's Den in 2006. The dragons did not invest in the proposal, but Trunki went on to become a successful commercial product. Its bright colours, moulded shell and ride-on design made it easily recognisable in the children's travel market.
The Trunki story is often cited as an example of a business that achieved success despite leaving the den without an investment. A television rejection is not the same as a failure in the wider market: product development, distribution and later sales can change a company's prospects substantially.
