Tej Lalvani joined the BBC's Dragon's Den as an investor in 2017.
Lalvani became a dragon in the programme's fifteenth series. He is best known for his role as chief executive of Vitabiotics, the family-founded company behind vitamin and nutritional supplement brands including Wellwoman and Pregnacare.
His appointment brought a consumer-health and branded-products perspective to the panel. That background was particularly relevant to pitches involving retail distribution, product formulation, marketing and repeat purchases. Lalvani remained part of the programme for several series before leaving the regular panel.
The year is sometimes mixed up with the year of his appointment at Vitabiotics or with the broadcast dates of adjacent Dragon's Den series. The show numbers its series separately from calendar years, and a series can span more than one date in production and broadcast planning. The key point is that his first appearance as a dragon was in 2017.
