Which Dutch venue hosted the 2021 UCI BMX Worlds after the 2020 cancellation?

The story behind the answer

Papendal, a sports venue in Arnhem, hosted the 2021 UCI BMX World Championships in the Netherlands.

The championships were held at Papendal from 20 to 22 August 2021. Papendal is a major Dutch elite-sport and training complex near Arnhem, and its BMX facilities made it an established venue for international racing. Dutch rider Niek Kimmann won the elite men's world title, while Britain's Beth Shriever won the elite women's championship.

The 2021 event was a rescheduled edition. The championships had been scheduled for Houston in 2020, but that edition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The world championships returned in 2021 at Papendal rather than proceeding in Houston.

The venue can be confused with other Dutch or nearby European BMX locations. Valkenswaard hosted the 2004 UCI BMX Worlds, while Rotterdam hosted in 2014. Zolder is in Belgium and hosted the championships in 2015 and 2019, not the 2021 edition.
