Answer
Burj Khalifa
Answer
Burj Khalifa
Burj Khalifa was the world’s tallest building when it opened in 2010.
The skyscraper stands in Downtown Dubai and reaches an architectural height of 828 metres (2,717 feet). It was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, with Adrian Smith serving as chief architect and Bill Baker as structural engineer.
Construction began in 2004, and the building was inaugurated on January 4, 2010. It was originally known during construction as Burj Dubai, but its name was changed to Burj Khalifa in honour of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, then president of the United Arab Emirates.
The tower’s Y-shaped floor plan helps support its height and gives many apartments and hotel rooms outward views. Its mixed-use program includes residences, offices, the Armani Hotel Dubai and observation facilities. The Burj Khalifa is frequently confused with the Burj Al Arab, a separate Dubai hotel known for its sail-like profile.
