Which Dragon was born in Clydebank, Scotland?

Duncan Bannatyne was born in Clydebank, Scotland.

Bannatyne was born in Clydebank in 1949 and later became one of Britain’s most recognisable entrepreneurs and television investors. His business interests have included health clubs, hotels, care homes and property.

Before becoming a major business figure, Bannatyne served in the Royal Navy and worked in several jobs, including selling ice cream. He used business opportunities in different sectors to build the Bannatyne Group, which became particularly associated with health and fitness clubs.

He joined the original Dragons’ Den panel in 2005 and remained a regular Dragon for several years. His Scottish birthplace is sometimes confused with his later business base or with other Dragons’ birthplaces, but Clydebank is the specific town recorded in biographies of Bannatyne.
