Which Dota 2 attribute affects a hero's health points?
Answer
strength
Answer
strength
Strength is the Dota 2 attribute that affects a hero’s health points.
Every hero has strength, agility, and intelligence, with Universal functioning as a fourth attribute category for certain heroes. Strength represents toughness and endurance: increasing it raises a hero’s maximum health and also improves health regeneration. In current Dota 2 mechanics, each point of strength provides 22 maximum health, although exact values have changed across major patches.
Strength is therefore valuable to heroes that need to survive prolonged fights, initiate combat, or absorb damage. Strength heroes are often associated with durable frontline roles, but the attribute is not limited to one playstyle. Items, talents, abilities, and a hero’s level can all increase strength, allowing any hero to gain additional health when those bonuses apply.
A common mix-up is assigning health to the hero’s primary attribute rather than to strength itself. A hero can have agility or intelligence as its primary attribute and still gain health from strength. Agility primarily affects armor and attack speed, while intelligence is associated with mana and related magical resources. Universal heroes benefit from all attributes for damage, but strength remains the direct health attribute.
