Which Doors album features the song 'Touch Me'?

The story behind the answer

The Doors’ song “Touch Me” appears on the album The Soft Parade. Released in 1969, it was the first single from the band’s fourth studio album and became one of their biggest American hits.

Written by guitarist Robby Krieger, the song marked a notable expansion of the Doors’ usual sound. Producer Paul A. Rothchild brought in brass and string arrangements, and jazz saxophonist Curtis Amy contributed the prominent tenor-sax solo. The additional instrumentation gives the recording a polished, soul-influenced character that differs from the group’s earlier psychedelic work.

“Touch Me” reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the Doors’ last U.S. Top 10 hit. It also topped the Cashbox chart and the Canadian RPM singles chart. The song was released as a single in December 1968, several months before The Soft Parade reached stores in July 1969, which can make its album placement easy to overlook.
