What was The Doors' first album released after Jim Morrison's death?
Answer
Other Voices
Answer
Other Voices
The Doors’ first album released after Jim Morrison’s death was Other Voices.
Released by Elektra on October 18, 1971, Other Voices followed Morrison’s death in Paris on July 3, 1971. The album was already underway while Morrison was away, and the surviving members initially expected him to return and complete the songs.
When that became impossible, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger shared the lead-vocal duties. The record includes “Tightrope Ride,” which received some radio play, and was produced by the three Doors members with engineer Bruce Botnick.
A common mix-up is Full Circle, released in 1972. It was the band’s second post-Morrison studio album, not the first. An American Prayer, released in 1978, also came later and used Morrison’s previously recorded spoken-word performances with newly added instrumental backing.
