Which Disney character is known as the richest duck in the world?
Answer
Scrooge McDuck
Answer
Scrooge McDuck
Scrooge McDuck is known as the richest duck in the world. The boast is part of his fictional identity, not a real-world financial ranking: he is the immensely wealthy uncle of Donald Duck and the owner of Duckburg’s famous Money Bin.
Created by Carl Barks, Scrooge first appeared in the 1947 comic-book story “Christmas on Bear Mountain.” His character was inspired partly by Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, but Scrooge McDuck became an adventurer, businessman, miser and self-made fortune hunter in his own right.
His wealth is deliberately inconsistent across stories. Different comics and DuckTales episodes give wildly different totals, from billions to fantastical “multiplujillions.” Flintheart Glomgold and John D. Rockerduck are recurring rivals who sometimes challenge his claim, but Scrooge remains the standard answer to this trivia question.
Scrooge’s signature possessions include the Number One Dime and the Money Bin, where he stores his fortune. His Scottish heritage, hard-earned business philosophy and habit of swimming through coins are central parts of his popular image.
