Which developer made Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex?
Answer
Traveller's Tales
Answer
Traveller's Tales
Traveller's Tales developed Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. The 2001 platform game was the fourth main Crash Bandicoot installment and the first main entry not released solely for a PlayStation console.
Universal Interactive approached Traveller's Tales after the earlier Naughty Dog era ended. The studio initially demonstrated a 3D volcanic level, but development changed substantially after an ambitious free-roaming concept was abandoned. Traveller's Tales then rebuilt the project as a more traditional Crash adventure under a tight schedule.
The game introduced Crunch Bandicoot, a genetically enhanced rival created by Doctor Neo Cortex, and centered on the elemental masks that power Cortex's plans. It launched on PlayStation 2 before later versions appeared on Xbox and GameCube.
Eurocom is a common source of confusion because it developed the GameCube port, not the original game. Radical Entertainment and Vicarious Visions worked on other Crash titles in the wider series, but neither was the developer credited for The Wrath of Cortex's original production.
