Fulham versus Chelsea, the final match of the 2026–27 Premier League opening weekend, was scheduled for 24 August 2026.
The match was set for Monday evening at Craven Cottage, with a 20:00 BST kick-off. Its placement meant the opening Match Round extended from Friday 21 August through Monday 24 August.
Fulham and Chelsea are both London clubs, although they play at different grounds. Craven Cottage sits beside the River Thames, while Chelsea’s home stadium is Stamford Bridge in Fulham, an area of west London.
The Monday conclusion was part of a deliberately staggered schedule designed for television coverage and broader fixture management. The first round therefore included one Friday match, six Saturday matches, three Sunday matches and one Monday match.
