Which country's flag shows a black double-headed eagle on a red field? Albania.
Albania's national flag is a red field bearing a black double-headed eagle. The eagle is a long-standing Albanian symbol and is closely associated with Gjergj Kastrioti, known as Skanderbeg, whose 15th-century revolt against the Ottoman Empire helped make the emblem central to Albanian identity.
The flag became the national symbol when Albania declared independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1912. Its core design has remained recognizable, although different regimes altered it. King Zog's period introduced royal details, Italian occupation brought fascist imagery, and the communist government added a gold five-pointed star. The star was removed on 7 April 1992 after the communist era ended.
The red field is commonly linked with bravery, strength and the bloodshed associated with the struggle for independence, while the eagle represents the Albanian people and sovereign state. Montenegro and Serbia also use eagle imagery in their heraldry, which can cause confusion, but neither has Albania's simple black eagle centered on a plain red field.
