Which country's flag has five oblique bands radiating from the lower hoist corner?

The story behind the answer

Seychelles has a flag with five oblique bands radiating from the lower hoist corner.

The current flag was adopted on January 8, 1996, and is the third national flag used by Seychelles since independence from the United Kingdom in 1976. Its five bands are blue, yellow, red, white, and green. They spread outward from the bottom of the hoist, creating a distinctive design that suggests movement and a country looking toward the future.

The colors also carry symbolic meanings. Blue represents the sky and surrounding sea; yellow represents the sun; red stands for the people and their determination; white signifies social justice and harmony; and green represents the land and natural environment. The colors also reflect the palettes of Seychelles’ major political parties.

Earlier national flags looked very different. The first, used from 1976 to 1977, featured blue and red triangles. After a political change in 1977, a red, white, and green design was used until the present flag was introduced. Mauritius has stripes, but not Seychelles’ five radiating wedges.
