Which country won the inaugural PDC World Cup of Darts in 2010?

The story behind the answer

The Netherlands won the inaugural PDC World Cup of Darts in 2010.

The first tournament took place in June 2010 at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, Germany. The Netherlands team consisted of Raymond van Barneveld and Co Stompé. They defeated Wales, represented by Mark Webster and Barrie Bates, in the final to become the first champions.

The PDC World Cup of Darts is a team competition in which countries are represented by pairs or, under later formats, larger squads. It differs from the PDC World Darts Championship, which is an individual event. The World Cup combines singles matches with doubles, making teamwork and national selection important.

The tournament has changed its format several times. In later editions, more countries entered and the number of players per team varied. The Netherlands remains one of the competition’s strongest nations, alongside England and Scotland, but its first title came with the original two-player format.
