Which country opened the first LEGOLAND park outside Denmark, in 1996?
Answer
United Kingdom
Answer
United Kingdom
The United Kingdom opened the first LEGOLAND park outside Denmark in 1996, at Windsor.
LEGOLAND Windsor Resort was built on the former Windsor Safari Park site in Berkshire, England. It became the second LEGOLAND park after LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark, which opened in 1968. The Windsor resort combines LEGO-themed rides, miniature displays, shows and interactive attractions.
The park’s opening expanded the LEGOLAND concept beyond LEGO’s Danish home. Later parks opened in locations including California, Germany, Florida, Malaysia, Dubai, Japan and New York, creating a worldwide network of LEGO-themed destinations.
The United Kingdom is sometimes confused with Germany because LEGOLAND Deutschland opened soon afterwards, in 2002. The question concerns the first park outside Denmark, not the first park outside Europe or the first park in North America.
