Which country hosted the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games?
Answer
South Korea
Answer
South Korea
South Korea hosted the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang.
The Games took place from 9 to 18 March 2018, shortly after the 2018 Winter Olympics in the same South Korean region. Pyeongchang hosted snow events, while ice events were held in nearby Gangneung. This made the 2018 edition part of the established practice of holding the Winter Paralympics at the same broader venue as the Winter Olympics.
The competition featured six sports: alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, para ice hockey, snowboarding and wheelchair curling. North Korea participated in the Winter Paralympics for the first time at these Games, while the Neutral Paralympic Athletes team represented athletes from Russia.
South Korea had previously hosted the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, but Pyeongchang 2018 was the country’s first time hosting the Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics.
