Abbey is the Counter-Strike map set in a monastery and featuring the bombsite area called Ruins.
Abbey was introduced to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in the 2018 Halloween update. Its setting combines a Mediterranean village with a monastery complex, giving the map a distinctive architectural identity unlike the industrial or urban settings of many classic maps.
The map uses the standard bomb-defusal structure, with Terrorists attacking two sites and Counter-Terrorists defending them. Ruins is one of the recognizable areas used for navigation and callouts.
Abbey is often confused with Cobblestone because both maps use old European architecture and fortified stone structures. They are different maps: Cobblestone is associated with a castle setting, while Abbey centers on a village and monastery environment.
