Nuke is the Counter-Strike map famous for its two-level bombsite structure and radioactive facility setting. Unlike many maps whose bombsites are positioned across one main outdoor or street-level area, Nuke places one bombsite in an upper area and the other deep underground.
The setting is a nuclear research and storage facility, which explains the map’s industrial architecture, warning signs, silos, and underground corridors. Its vertical layout makes sound, rotations, and control of connecting areas especially important. Teams often need to decide whether to defend or attack through the upper site, lower site, or the routes connecting the two levels.
Nuke has appeared in several Counter-Strike releases and has received major layout revisions. Players sometimes confuse its original visual design with later versions, but the defining identity remains the nuclear plant and its unusually vertical bombsite arrangement.
