Which Counter-Strike map is famous for its long central lane called Banana?

The story behind the answer

Inferno is the Counter-Strike map famous for its long lane called Banana.

Banana is the route leading toward the B bombsite on Inferno. It is a major contest early in many rounds because control of the lane gives the Terrorists options for a B-site attack and helps the Counter-Terrorists defend the approach. Smoke, flash, and incendiary grenades are frequently used there.

Inferno is set in an Italian-inspired town and is one of the franchise’s best-known bomb-defusal maps. Its narrow routes, tight corners, and linked middle area reward utility coordination and careful timing. The map has received multiple visual and gameplay revisions across Counter-Strike versions.

Banana is a location name, not a separate map. Players sometimes also refer to “Top Banana” and “Bottom Banana,” informal callouts describing different sections of the same route. The map’s other famous area is Apartments near the A site.
