Answer
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive introduced the Molotov cocktail and incendiary grenade as buyable weapons.
In CS:GO, the Terrorist team can purchase a Molotov cocktail, while the Counter-Terrorist team can purchase an incendiary grenade. Both create a temporary area of fire that damages players standing in the flames and can deny access to a route or bombsite. Their different team-side names reflect the same broad tactical role.
The grenades became important because they added area control to Counter-Strike’s existing flashbang, smoke, and high-explosive grenade toolkit. Players use them to delay pushes, clear common positions, force enemies away from cover, or stop a bombsite retake.
They are sometimes confused with the incendiary effects of other weapons or with CS2’s smoke behavior. CS:GO introduced these fire grenades as purchasable equipment; later games adjusted their prices, damage behavior, and interaction with the environment.
